Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and blend until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into portions and add food coloring to each to resemble garden florals.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and press your thumb into the center of each to create an indent.
  7. Fill the indents with a small spoonful of fruit jam.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Dust with confectioner’s sugar for an elegant, finishing touch.
